On the technical side you need to make sure that a site is cross compatible with all different OS platforms such as Mac, Windows, Unix, Solaris, Web TV and so on. You also need to make sure that your site is cross browser compatible. Will it work and look the same on Internet Explorer as it will on Firefox, AOL, Prodigy and Opera? What about the new cell phones that allow you to surf the web? Will it work on them?

Also make sure that the site architecture is the most optimal for your users experience. Does a user need to see a splash page everytime they return? Do they have to go through 10 frustrating pages in order to purchase a product? Does your web developer know the different visitor categories and how each one of them will navigate through your site? I purchase all images royalty free from image banks. I also purchase the domain name and server space under your name. You own everything and I make sure you own everything in its full legal spectrum.

5. No hidden fees please!

You might have seen a site that offers "affordable" site design and it might be, at first. Then you learn you have to pay for their server space (location where your site sits) which turns out to be $150 or more a month! Wow! Where did that come from?
